Konnichiwa, AfterDark!
Meiko here, and I hope everyone's in the reading mood today, because AfterDark is rolling out another great feature of our blog: Fanfiction!
Yup, you heard that right. Your girl Meiko loves to write, so why not fanfiction? Posts will be made often (though don't expect a set schedule), and I'll create stories dealing with the anime/manga I'm following at that point in time.
"Defining Killua," the first entry into our Fanfiction endeavor, is a story based on Hunter x Hunter (2011), an amazing anime that follows two young boys on the quest to become Hunters. It is a really great show and there are 100 episodes right now, so it's not too late to catch up and become enthralled with the story like I have (to add to this shameless plug, the mangaka of Hunter x Hunter also created Yu Yu Hakusho, and I know YYH gets lots of love in the anime community).
If you read "Defining Killua," it focuses on creating some background information about a certain event that led to one of our deuteragonists taking the Hunter exam. Now, if you haven't watched Hunter x Hunter, you can read this without anything major getting spoiled. But, if you like the character and the twisted situation he finds himself in, then check out HxH because there's a lot more of that to discover.
Just a disclaimer, "Defining Killua" does involve a young child being placed in a very dangerous situation, so if you don't like violence against children, then you might not want to read this, or watch Hunter x Hunter (bummer...). But don't worry! My story isn't gory or anything like that; it's more of an exploration of Killua's mindset.
Anyway, it's a really fun read and the anime gets my highest recommendation, so I hope you enjoy! Just click on the link above or click the 'Defining Killua' tab to start reading.
